I don't believe in white privilege. People just like to victimize themselves and attribute it to things they don't have control over, while blaming an entire population for their misery. Isn't that exactly what racism is?

I for one don't blame anyone but to completely not factor or consider it is exactly why people are upset with the notion of "white privilege"

Twetch ·

not if the system is designed in a way where preference is given to some and not others. then it has nothing to do with blaming an entire population but the issue here is systematic racism.

Twetch ·

It would be if you were demonising people based on their race but their is certain societal privileges that you need to acknowledge as a white person if you live in most places. You can't discount that in the wider discussion of race.

Twetch ·

Systematic racism how? I don't see that anywhere where I'm from. If I'm on my guard in an immigrant neighborhood I'm not being racist. Also, standing out as a white person in such a place doesn't exactly feel like a privilege to me.

Twetch ·

Privilege is real that’s why Elizabeth Warren pretended to be Indian.

Twetch ·

I had to look up that story. Very typical in the current political climate. Then again, the Democrats have abused the race card for ages.

Maybe if I marry a Latina, Asian or African I'll save my children the oppression of being privileged.

Twetch ·

You're either being purposely obtuse or you're a retarded 'Murican who is probably racist..

Twetch ·

Having a different opinion equals racism nowadays. In a free country racism is not an issue. Privilege is not race-specific. There are many factors more important than race. It's just easy to say.

In the end, everyone who lives in the West is privileged.

Twetch ·

Or as i suggested you're being purposefully obtuse. Yeah most people who live in the West are privileged but that doesn't mean you're not afforded more privileges because you are also white.

Twetch ·

Like Naval says, social status games are zero sum.

Twetch ·

I asked you a question and I have yet to hear a concrete and non arbitrary example of how I'm more privileged than someone else. Forgive me if I'm not convinced. I still stand by my statement but I'm always open to reason.

Twetch ·

The example you used benefits you only. You should be on guard regardless but what you are pointing out is that since you are the "minority" here whereas the immigrants are the "majority" you don't feel the so called "white privilege" that are discussing.

Twetch ·

I hate polarizing views, whether it is Republican or Democrat..a lot of the far far left and far far right ideas they represent is toxic. All it serves is to divide.

Twetch ·

lol this is why threads like this turn ugly fast. the fact that it's not even up for consideration because you yourself personally do not perceive it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Twetch ·

I will end with this, I for one do not think all whites are privileged, or everyone in the West falls into that category. But asking for open discussions on how historically this has impacted communities till now. I don't blame anyone for this racial bs
