Dismantling the ability for the corrupt media to control the population by 'guilt by insinuation' and 'guilt by headline' is part of the multifaceted effort to guard citizens from the corrupt police state and 'deep state that often targets conservatives, because most of those in DC and Northern Virginia that work for the Federal government are Democrats, and many of them seek to work together with their allies in the corrupt media on the coasts with selective leaks, selective enforcement, selective surveillance, and selective raids against their conservative political opponents.

Perhaps this is entirely always ideological, but just as even a political hack 'journalist' want to report that 'Trump was raided by the FBI', they also want the click bait. Likewise, workers at the FBI etc know that Republicans are to likely shrink those agencies' budgets and labor forces - so in a way these leaks and raids are also attempted blows by a deep state that simply wants to keep its influence.

Technologically, reducing the ability for click bait to have influence will not only be better for all politically, but also I believe health-wise - as I believe click bait is another way that many try to make money off of the dopamine addiction of others. These are issues that are interconnected, and responses to them are holistic and multi-faceted.
