These 'directives' are illegal, unenforceable and unconstitutional. Almost every action the gov't takes has the opposite of the intended effect. Most ppl don't want the virus and will stay at home anyway.

Yeah ok but are you going to trust people that fight over toilet paper and lick airplane toilet seats to do the right thing? I don’t. But if everyone was as smart as the people here on @852 we probably wouldn’t have this problem in the first place

Quarantines create a "not my responsability" effect, as most government actions, decreasing the feeling of having to build your immunity and making you feel like the government is responsible for your own health, increasing the spread of future outbreaks.

in the absence of government intervention, the elderly & fragile would self-quarantine, also the rest of the population but with a lower self-enforcement as they don't feel as threatened. This would allow for natural herd immunity to build...

...with limited ICUs saturation. The population would emerge with a strong herd immunity, it would also become smarter for future virus outbreaks, learning that they should quarantine if old or weak, and build a strong overall immunity as best as they can.
