The difference between BitClout and Twetch is like night and day. I don't know why they're compared.

BitClout is a platform for speculative bets on other people's value.
Twetch is a platform where you are the value.

One's for for losers. One's not.

I think with a bit of coordinated PR, some articles in big established magazines and public endorsement from the right people (like Graham Stephan, which has the right attitude and the right audience) Twetch is on it's way to dominate the whole market.

Twetch ·

Maybe a TikTok hype wave too, because when people actually get on the app and use it it's a no brainier to realize this is the real deal. I truly believe a PR push it's the only thing it requires to reach it's deserved recognition

Twetch ·

Maybe! I like what you're saying.

I do think the product is its own PR tool at this point. It didn't take much co-ordination for @42848 to accidentally make his best investment ever ( > 100 x return) by posting a sentence for 5 cents. That won't stop!

Need a true iOS app and faster servers first because sometimes it can be pretty glitchy. But I agree about viral marketing via TikTok as a means through which to grow quickly. Needs to happen FAST before Twitter copies the business model somehow.

Twetch ·

Also when video is integrated, the market for that will be sweet.

Filtering posts by video quality will also filter them by how much it cost to post. People won't pay a lot for shitposts. So instantly, social media becomes cleaner and more useful.

Square becomes the new Goldman Sachs in 10 years. BTC and ETH FTW

I pondered it some more last night after our exchange and this take was what I landed on. If Twetch is too succeed it can’t be slow and steady growth. Needs to go stupid viral and pull the rug right out from under their feet. Hope @3 and @4 have a plan.

Twetch ·

It tips over too much for this plan to execute. It'd be horribly embarrassing if we were to pull some type of stunt that caused this massive expansion in growth and I saw nothing but complaints on publishing errors.

Twetch ·

Why does it need to go viral as opposed to slow and steady?

Viral is preceded by slow and steady. S curves.

When, not if.

Twitter cuts us off at the knees once they see viability.

Twitter won't copy the Twetch business model, as it means changing their entire philosophy and economic infrastructure within months.

Staff retraining, database upheaval, complete software reorg. Won't happen.

This is why giants fall. They can't move.

They have 5,000 employees and as much access to capital as they could possibly need. They could build it from the ground up in a matter of months I reckon.

Twetch ·

If you feel so strongly about this being the reality.... May I ask what you are doing here? Why spend the energy building a following here? Just enjoying being an early adopter or what? Not being sassy, real question.

Twetch ·

Maybe! It's possible, unlikely imo.

If they do, they owe nChain licensing fees so it's a win-win for the space. And they can only feasibly do it on BSV.

Nobody loses in this scenario

I'm enjoying myself right now I guess. I couldn't do what I did here on Slack. I'm really just using this platform to reprogram some of the strays in the flock. I'm not all in on Twetch. I love it; I hope it succeeds. But I'm a learned extrovert.
