In desperate need of a protocol for editing typos for a Twetch. Seems like a great usecase for versioning on Metanet

There** haha

There already is one. It's called Bitcoin. All you need to do is find the block before the block where your typo was made, start from there with 51% or more of hashpower, fix your typo on that chain and then keep mining past current block height to win.

@ Jim 🙄. @Brandon, There could be option for 30 second grace period before posting forever

Twetch ·

That would be erasing the typo, I just want to fix it. Bitcoin is like a git tree it should display the current version but all other branches are still on chain.

Twetch ·

You guys are missing the point. The typo will be their for ever in an older version but a new transaction would "overwrite" it on another block. Think of Bitcoin as a timeline of edits

Twetch ·

In that case it would cost four cents total for a single twetch to show,

Twetch ·

So you’re saying you want an option to retwetch to “overwrite” your old twetch and only show rewritten one?

Twetch ·

Yes, immutable ledger does not mean we cannot make mistakes. It means that there is a record of all changes. It's silly to box yourself into not being able to make mistakes.

Twetch ·

And yeah its going to cost more (BSV not cents) because you are making 2 entries to the ledger.
