It depends on the value of the information.
If it is bullshit, nobody will backup and store it.
If it is good, a lot of people will backup and store it.
If I post something which I think is "of value", it is my responsibility to backup and store it.
Then other people have the chance to either agree or disagree.
Similar when talking to other people: if I tell them something valuable, they will/may remember it, but if I tell them random blips about a topic they are not interested in they will disregard it.
