Just like the Bell Peppers, tomatoes are very versatile vegetables that we also (nearly) daily consume: be it in salads, stuffed vegetables (gemista), pasta, pizza, soups, and more.
For that reason tomatoes are "fundamental" in the garden. Last year, as (still) a new comer, I didn't recognize the pest that affected them and so the yield was very disappointing.
I hope this year goes better (it seems it does) but we will see as also this year I put some Sulphur on them to protect them from aphids, spider mites and so on.
I have planted different varieties: Roma, Cherry, Mamande and the lefties seeds from the tomatoes we consumed.

We are about 5 weeks further since my last post on our tomatoes so let's take a look how they are doing.
I am very happy that the tomato plants are producing tomatoes like crazy (in my terms): some plants have grown tall like 2m60?!? and they are carrying over 40 tomatoes and counting on them already.
I have also added another type of tomatoes, Marmande to be precise, but they are not doing so well despite being very strong plants: they have a very big root system and very fat stems. It seems some of them suffer from some kind of disease that dries their leaves and makes them curls towards the inside.

This is the third "batch" of tomatoes that are red enough to be picked and consumed. We had already harvested about 45-50 tomatoes from earlier picks.
They come in different sizes as I am not sure which variety is which. The only varieties that I recognize (for now) are Roma, Cherry, Marmande.
