Identity politics, practiced by the right and by the left, is the complete inversion of ethics.
In ethics, a deed is good/bad independent of who is the victim and who the perpetrator.
In identity politics, a deed is good/bad according to which groups victim and perpetrator belong to.
If A does X it is bad, if B does X it is good.
Of course, this ends up being "it is fine when we* do it."
It is warranted to be extremely suspicious of anyone who focuses on identity instead of action.
