I love this graphic. One might assume there are 360 divisions on the outer edge but there are not. I did not count them but I figured out pretty quickly that there are 512 increments just by looking at one quadrant. (I used the black section) It goes from outer to inner, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, as the sections double in size. Multiply that quadrant by four and you get 512. Or you could just continue doubling to ½ of the circle (256) and then the whole of 512. Very cool! Love it.

To be clear, when I say there are 512, I mean black and white increments around the outer edge. If I were counting only the black marks, there would be 256 of them. But counting black/white/black/white, there are 512.
