The Danger of New Communism. The Mass Collection of Data and the Control of Information.
In an era where technology has permeated every aspect of our lives, we face a new type of threat: technological communism, a form of centralized control not by traditional political ideologies but by tech giants in Silicon Valley and Chinese corporations. This new communism isn't about collective ownership of means of production but about the collectivist ownership of personal data, the most valuable currency of the 21st century.

The Mass Collection of Data: The New Currency
From the moment we wake up until we go to sleep, our devices are constantly collecting data about us. What do we search for on Google? What do we buy on Amazon? What places do we visit according to Google Maps? This information, once private, is now meticulously recorded, analyzed, and stored in massive databases. In Silicon Valley, companies like Google, Meta (formerly Facebook), and Amazon have access to an immeasurable amount of personal data. In China, the Great Firewall, along with companies like Tencent and Alibaba, not only collect data but also use it to shape individual behavior under state surveillance.

The Information Monopoly
This control over data isn't just a privacy issue; it's a monopoly on information that can be used to manipulate our perceptions, decisions, and even our thoughts.
Psychological Manipulation: With advanced algorithms, these corporations can predict our reactions, influence our purchasing decisions, and even shape our political or social opinions. The "filter bubble" is just the tip of the iceberg.
Censorship and Control of Narratives: In China, the control of information is even more direct, where the Communist Party uses data to censor and promote official narratives. In the West, though subtler, algorithms can determine which news we see, how they are presented, and which opinions are amplified or silenced.

Towards a New Technological Feudalism
This control over data resembles a new form of feudalism, where "Big Tech" are the feudal lords and we, the users, are the serfs, bound by invisible chains of data we cannot control or fully understand. By knowing everything about us, these entities can steer our thoughts towards ends that are not always clear or benevolent. The risk of Collectivized Thought is the loss of individual autonomy, the very essence of democracy and personal freedom.

How can we return privacy over our own data to each user? This isn't just a technical issue but a battle for our fundamental rights:
Education and Awareness: We must educate ourselves about what data is collected and how it's used.
Regulation and Data Protection Laws: The implementation of laws like GDPR in Europe shows a path toward regulation, though there's still much to be done.
Decentralized Technologies: Supporting technologies like blockchain and Metanet could give individuals back control over their data.
Individual Actions: From using VPNs to choosing services that respect privacy, every action counts.

Conclusion:
We face a critical moment where freedom and privacy are at stake. This new technological communism threatens to turn us into puppets of a system we don't see but that knows us better than we know ourselves. It's time to act, to reclaim our autonomy, to fight for a world where privacy isn't a luxury but an inalienable right. The revolution for privacy is not only possible; it's necessary to ensure that data doesn't become the chain binding us to a future of control and conformity. For all the above reasons, Metanet matters and is a fundamental tool invented by Satoshi Nakamoto to give us back control of our own thinking.

Good article. I think academia is also a major part of the problem. Everyone is trained to be a specialist in a narrow field and that means almost no one can see the big picture. A renaissance requires polymaths and generalists with multi disciplinary talent and vision. In addition, research is corrupted by corporate and government influence. Researchers are then forced to play the game to get funded. This leads to falsifying of results and also incompetent people rising to prominence.
