Dang a lot of people think battery powered plane can go BRRR but I know I’m right — there is no way this works. @25589 Do you have any sort of mathematical proof for this. I will finance the entire thread if needed.

First, this is the state of current battery powered aircraft. https://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/largest-electric-plane-yet-completed-its-first-flight-it-s-n1221401

Second of all, the size of the aircraft doesnt matter as much as people think it does. Whether it is a handheld device or the size of a Cessna Grand Caravan, an airplane crossing the Atlantic under battery power is just not possible with current technology

Is the relationship between flight time and number batteries virtually constant because of the weight increase? All sizes are restricted by same energy density? Sounds like eCaravan in the article basically has the same flight time as a hobby drone.

Although different sized aircraft do face different challenges to a certerain degree, in this case the entire concept is restricted by energy density. Jet fuel contains over 35 times the energy of Lithium Ion batteries per Liter of space!
