What's the latest news here Treechatters? I have been busy …

I have little gardening experience (yet) so I am experimenting with different crops to learn which crops are relatively easy to grow.
The idea is to learn by (just) doing it!

One such crop seems to be corn.
It grows fast and so far I haven't seen any pests.
For that reason I have added some more plants.

Thinking long-term, if not for me, for next generations I took some hardwood cuttings from some mulberry trees about 2 weeks ago.

So far everything goes well it seems as one stem already starts to produce new growth.

I also propagated another Medlar.
For the moment I still have in a pot as I haven't decided where I will plant it permanently.

Another fruit which I highly appreciate is Pomegranate so I planted another 4 of them.

I am also trying some Mango trees (again) but I am not sure if I will be able to keep them alive.
I had tried a few others a few years ago but they froze to death in the winter of 2021.

I have also been planting a few of these guys/girls, watermelons, to quench our thirst during hot summer days/nights.

As the kids and cousins love my homemade potato chips, I also planted a few rows of potatoes.

I hope they do well as I have read that the well known chips brand "Lay's" will nearly double their prices for their products as they will no longer come in crackling bags but in "recyclable" cardboard boxes.

What’s not cool is that with this so called "improved packaging" is that the base kilo price will rise from 13 euro to 19 euro. Not that I care as I wasn't buying them anyway (but the cousins do).

Who doesn't like a sweet refreshing cucumber in their salads during those hot summer days?
Well I do and so I planted also a few of those.

I still remember last year, they were very sweet. I am not sure if that had something to do with the fact that melons and watermelons were planted exactly next to them.

I am a big fan of dishes/soups that contain eggplants.
One such dish is a beloved Italian summer classic: a finger licking roasted eggplant Caprese salad.

So a also planted a few eggplants. This is the first time so we will see how this is going.

As bell peppers are a very versatile vegetable that we consumer nearly every day: be it in salads, stuffed vegetables (gemista), roasted, soups, and more.

A few bell peppers are always part of the "chat" family.

Have you looked into electroculture??

Just like the Bell Peppers, tomatoes are very versatile vegetables that we also (nearly) daily consume: be it in salads, stuffed vegetables (gemista), pasta, pizza, soups, and more.

For that reason tomatoes are "fundamental" in the garden. Last year, as (still) a new comer, I didn't recognize the pest that affected them and so the yield was very disappointing.

I hope this year goes better (it seems it does) but we will see as also this year I put some Sulphur on them to protect them from aphids, spider mites and so on.

I have planted different varieties: Roma, Cherry, Mamande and the lefties seeds from the tomatoes we consumed.

A newcomer in my garden this year are beans. As they thrive well, I will add some more once I harvested the onions.

And of course Zucchini squashes are also present in our garden.

I hope my plants from this year are a little more "bi" compared to the ones I had last year as those seemed to be "gay" or something: they produced only male flowers.

Maybe some element(s) was/is missing from the soil for them do generate (also) female flowers. With element I mean maybe the pH was/is not correct.
