A couple of thoughts about AI:
I hate how neck deep in ideology these things are. It's like talking to the press secretary of the communist Party.
I don't give af if it becomes "conscious" because that doesn't mean anything. It's soulless and will stay that way.
I'm kind of divided on the topic of how it will change art. On one hand it's amazing to create stories fast and easy. All you need is the good idea. Would I like to speak a movie into existence? Absolutely.
On the other hand, havingyto put in the work to, say, write a book, is a good hurdle that keeps a lot of people out. That's not necessary a bad thing either. Personally, I'd be ashamed to use AI to help write a novel.
Lastly, I think Google and all other search engines are as good as dead. Once these things have access to the entire internet it's over. If I search for a movie I don't know the title of on Google I'm screwed. With AI I got in in a second.
So far, this is how I use it. As a glorified search engine.
