my country is beyond the binary of hateful dichotomies. with millions of gods, thousands of languages & hundreds of cultures there’s plenty of reasons to distrust & hate each other. yet we continue to thrive. why? my guess is the festivals we celebrate

Festivals are so integral to our culture. In the villages, they celebrate so many festivals every month. Somehow, the festivals we celebrate have dwindled. Even the distinctions between workdays and weekends have blurred out. We no longer celebrate the Friday night for the long weekend ahead. It's all work work work. Where is play?
ikr? festivals are proof that at one time we played more than we worked. how the tables have turned? to use Pareto's ratio, i'd advocate an ideal of 80% play and 20% work for a happy and playful life
