POW-backed content is our only hope for better honest online and social media. I wish that weren't true. But it is.
It is the empowerment of the individual.

Content is inherently POW-backed. If it's actually good, do you think they used a random generator to produce it?
Boost is fundamentally a voting mechanism. But it is a voting mechanism that doesn't reward the content creator, so is it a good one?
You are correct. What I meant to say was:
An objective measure of energy (such as Bitcoin Difficulty) in POW-backed content is our only hope for better honest online and social media.
Boost is backed by capital, not Proof of Work. It doesn't matter that PoW is involved in the system because it's not an input to the system.
Everything a person can do is backed by their capital.
Capital means "investment or asset or contribution".
For example, eating a mango is backed by the person's primary direct property called their "body". This is capital, too.
I guess the key thing to analyze is the effect of capital as an input to the system. Systems are complex things.
The question arises of who is the "they" or "self" to which the capital is ascribed? This question is at the heart of contemplative practice. The Self is not the body since you don't become less self if limbs are lost. It's also not simply semantics.
In this case you responded to the fruits of my labor and capital by replying to me. So you did not have a problem assigning it to "my self".
Do you have an example where you have a difficulty assigning (capital) causes and effects?
in the market place represents you, but the question arises of what is the "You" that your capital represents? What are the qualities of the You that your capital symbolizes? It is a body? If so, are you still "you" in dreams with no body? Ideas? etc.
The problem of what encompasses the self is a problem of subjectivity and objectivity. The self that can be made an object is not the Seer which is the Self that is aware of that object. Capital relates to span and Self to depth. For instance, your dollar
"Anything a person can do is backed by capital." The ability to remain in a pure witness, non-dual state does not depend on capital which I defining as matrialism. To assume the Self IS capital is to define Self in materialist terms which do not apply.
You cannot be a "pure witness" in a "non-dual state". At best you can get to 99.9999999% to one side, but never elimate the other.
See Bohr and Heisenberg. Also see "Principle of Complementarity".
It's not a matter of IF you can since to "be" it implies existing in a temporal realm and not the non-dual, causal pure-witness. It's not something to become. It's a part of your nature; something to awaken to. This is the path of contemplative wisdom.
Just for the record, I understand the entire universe as "Self" reflecting back on itself in an infinite regression like a mirror reflecting itself.
But I'm also undoing years of harm from Descartes Dualism. The EPR paradox is relevant here.
Capital is the word used to describe what you are the "head" of. Dollars, real estate are examples of capital. So is one's body.
I understand your definition of capital and I really like it. I like the concept of seeing one's material essence as capital instead of simply wealth, etc. But the claim still assumes that "Self" is a quantifiable order of material being, which it is not.
All Being is material. There is no Being without material.
Information/thoughts are inseperable from energy/matter. By definition.
To be capital pure Self would have to be objectifiable. Pure Self is the witness in which all objects arise and is incapable of being made an object. The pure Self is not capital since no body houses pure subjectivity. That's why "it can't be eliminated."
