Corona may have already been contained. If that were true, we would not know for certain for about two weeks. Available knowledge cannot rule out the possibility that it is already everywhere.

That is why our plan is to spend 2 weeks home with 4 of us. Kids don't go school, we work online... delivery guy does deliveries. We are quite near China... for US I think it should be fine
Here in Hong Kong there are still no confirmed cases for anyone who hasn't been to the Wuhan area. I am also skeptical of a 14-day incubation period for a flu-like illness. Of course, I'm no expert, but I doubt it's really that long. Optimistic.

I'm just basing on incubation periods one sees listed for other infections, which typically err on the side of very high. Like if 95% of those who get flu contacted virus <2 days ago but 1% 7 days ago they'll say "incubation period 1-7 days" to be safe.
If this isn't the moment you are prepared for, at least make it the moment you started preparing for moments like this.
I think we'll be fine this time, but being prepared to stay a week or two at home, if necessary, is just common sense.
As new information is coming in, it doesn't sound as bad as it did initially. However we are not through the worst of it.
