True, it is a bit of a nanny state, but I can sleep here with doors unlocked and wide open at night without fear. People are very polite and still care about each other on the south island.

I moved from South Africa, but it is much cheaper than The Netherlands where I lived for 6 years just before that. Housing here is expensive based on the salary one earns, but then again interest rates are just about nothing. Medicals are free and pension
