Conviction is a word that interests me.

When one speaks of their own convictions, it is deeper than belief and implies an origination in something larger than oneself - an appeal to truth.

This relates to my exploration of the word "courage."

What is courage? It is more than just bravery, and goes far deeper than motivation.

Courage is, in my opinion, the bravery to stand true to one's convictions in the face of doubt and fear.

Courage takes the best qualities of bravery, motivation, and the pursuit of truth and brings them together.

Only the complete, balanced, purposeful human can be truly courageous, though courage can come from anyone.
