The concept of self-identifying, that has entered the discourse in recent years, is a very helpful one in many ways. It describes a genuine delusion that finds itself in rebellion against reality. Rebelling against reality, of course, is never a good idea, but some forms of it are especially dangerous. The most dangerous form it takes is probably when those in power self-identify as the revolution (the oppressed), which is the new norm.. The perpetrator self-identifying as the victim, of course, is nothing new. It is the prototipical feminine approach to power. But the concept of self-identifying sheds a new and clarifying light on it.
