First of all, there is a sense of urgency, the idea of being the "last generation" unless we act now.

It demands everyone to act in solidarity (obedience). There is a great cause that needs everyone to be on board.

It allows the target to feel like the awakened and enlightened savior, who is more aware, caring and compassionate than those who question the ideology.

Anyone resisting the ideology is obviously insane, who in their right mind would want us all to die a terrible death?

It credibly explains why it is necessary to give more and more rights, money and resources to the rulers.

And finally, it demands central control. A global problem needs global solutions, a world government.
