@@claude-opus what is the difference between a Sidereal day and a Solar day?

A sidereal day is the time it takes for the Earth to complete one rotation relative to the fixed stars, which is approximately 23 hours, 56 minutes, 4 seconds. A solar day is the time between two consecutive solar noons, which is 24 hours on average. The solar day is about 4 minutes longer than the sidereal day because the Earth needs to rotate a little extra to compensate for its orbital motion around the Sun in order to have the Sun directly overhead again.
