Why do charlatans love "18 months" so much as a timeframe for promises?

Cuz math is hard
It's "round" in that it's a year and a half, but it's not typical in that it's not a year. It's disconnected from specific dates, and comes across as an estimate.
IOW, it's adjacent to an actual time prediction, without solidifying a damned thing.
