*IF* change is a constant (I think it is) then it is a matter for people to either make changes, or be the victim of the changes being made.

also my opinion... one of the greatest problems with heirarchies is their fixed nature. People get stuck in positions which is antithetical to human nature (that we are constantly changing - biologically at the very least) - and these fixed positions have us 'live up' to an illusion of what it is to be human.
