PPC bois

Excited isn't really the word I would use lol
Twetch ·
Canadian here as well, thinking PPC. 🇨🇦🍁
Twetch ·
I'll be excited if we end up with anyone besides Trudeau.

Of course Bernier winning is best case, but in case of a vote split, accelerationism is the lesser of two evils imo.
Twetch ·
Way i see it, Scheer is a less obvious Trudeau who would do greater long term harm because right leaners would grow complacent once he's in office. More Trudeau is the accelerationist point of view, hit the bottom faster to bounce back faster.
Twetch ·
Only reason I'm pro Scheer is because I'm pro Oil & Gas and I think Scheer would help Alberta.
Twetch ·
Who, when presented with his tweets, quickly become disinfranchised. It's time to stop playing the losing game of pandering to the left, it doesnt work and is counter to reality. And reality is coming, either in the decline brought on by another Trudeau term

Being "concerned" about the environment buys votes. You can't expect to be elected if you don't at least pretend to be. Do you think Trudeau would have gotten in had he said "Climate change is a hoax"?
Twetch ·
Scheer has no hardline policies that are actually good. His speech is aimed at the left, which he definitely wont win over, and only disenfranchises the right, or at least those on the right that are listening. His main voting block is the uninformed boomer
Twetch ·
Or with a surprise win by Bernier. Scheer slows the decline, but prolongs it.
Twetch ·
or uninformed gen-x'r in my case. I have to admit I haven't looked too deeply into Scheer. I was pretty much going to vote for him simply because he isn't Trudeau. I HATE Trudeau. So who would someone wanting to see Oil & Gas promoted vote for then???

Read up on Maxime Bernier and the PPC, lots of people are in the position of "just voting conservative" because they just dont know. Interesting read below

I read up about Mr Bernier and I have to admit his platform make a lot of sense. Having said that, I believe Canada has had far too many federal leaders from Quebec. It's time the prairies and the west become a priority again. Sorry, I don't trust him.
Twetch ·
He wants to gut the socialist equalization payments from alberta to quebec but okay.
Twetch ·
Why would he do that? How is this in the best interest of Quebec? I can't see this guy getting in. Quebec surely isn't going to vote for him. I doubt westerners will vote for him, his platform just seems off. Like he's got something up his sleeve.
Twetch ·
But keep listening, keep up to date, and dont write him off completely just yet.

I'd argue long term best interest is for Quebec to develop its own industries, which they wont do if the incentive structure remains the same. Bernier seems to understand this. + Using federal powers to force through pipelines seems beyond good for AB.
