I can try to explain.
The thread vs reply hierarchy makes sense to me now but doesn’t feel intuitive especially at first. Many times I’ll extend the thread instead of replying. A dedicated reply button would be great.
On any social media, I like to control exactly what is displayed on my feed/page/stream. Tree chat seems to sort by ‘recent’ ; grouping both OP public posts, thread additions, and replies to other posts.

Replying here for instance, if I want to provide information it’s not exactly clear if I should extend the thread or reply to myself.
Threads, replies, and organization seems to be the key differentiator between treechat and other socials. But if this is the case, making posts feel very organized is key. Do you want treechat to feel like Twitter or more like a public notes app (like Notion with friends)
If I make an organized way to view my content, other users can still extend the thread and could take away from what I built
there is some ambiguity about whether to branch (reply) or to continue the thread, the message is the reply button, and im not sure if having it would remove the ambiguity? i think the answer is that there is no right answer and you can continue the thread if you want or branch into a new thread... but i do see the "decision friction" there
and thanks for the feedback
i dont think its a public notes app... its a private notes app if you want it to be (in the private Home stream) but in public anyone can come in and interact, and "pollute" your structure, so i think in public it is more twitter than notion, although you have the ability to create notes in Home stream, and then publish them
as far as the stream... by default it only shows "reply threads" ie. branches if they were upvalued, twitter works the same way... its just that people are upvaluing a lot
