Can someone explain '/trolltoll' for me?

Wouldn't it have a lot of potential for abuse or am I misunderstanding the function?

Showing up in my notifications is a privilege. I want specific people to have to pay more if they want direct access to my attention.

Twetch ·

I'll explain it for $5 /pay me

Twetch ·

Gutzzz 😂

Twetch ·

/pay @3 $5.00

In-depth please...

Twetch ·

Wouldn't this promote divisive tribalism in differing camps of users, preventing valuable debates/discussions?

Twetch ·

It's up to the user to decide what is valuable discussion. There are certain people that do not provide value in their discussion. For them to get my attention, they have to pay *extra* value, to compensate for the lack of value their discussion provides.

Twetch ·

But can't one use the toll to silence a different opinion from their own and prevent another user trying to make valid points...

The virtual equivalent of covering your ears shouting 'la la la, I can't hear you'!

...I guess it is better than blocking.

Twetch ·

Your opinion means nothing.

Twetch ·

/trolltoll add @10831 $1.00

I guess I'll give it a crack, here's a worthy candidate.

Twetch ·

People form their own echo chambers by their own will. People who recoil from all different opinions would have already done so, regardless of any feature.

Twetch ·

Good point, I understand.

I guess I just can't rule out the potential for misuse, an exciting feature none the less.

Twetch ·

Imagine you are on Twitter, and you get lots of troll comments, wasting your time (as well as negative)...

Well imagine if those trolls now had to pay.

Either they stop, or you earn, or the quality of their response is more considered.

All good.

Twetch ·

troll toll allows you to set the cost for a single user to interact with you on *every* interaction

so if you /trolltoll set [tag name] [ enter price ] the price you set is the price it costs that user to like, follow, branch, reply, and tag you

Twetch ·

if your aim is to simply block someone from being able to interact with you in any way, you can just set the price to some amount that is not feasible to pay for interaction
