having thought about it more there's not really a way you can make it any more efficient. you can click on any comment under a post and it opens a new thread. I guess that doesn't work for the main post as you'd have to split different comments into different threads.

yea, this is how twitter works but we take a more chat oriented approach where everything goes into a single chat thread for that title mesage, the thread is where you would "respond directly" but there is some ambiguity which message in the thread you are referencing, hence the quoting to specify it [[treechat theory]]
