it was called EduVisualizer... I tried to make it use Dalle 3 to create visualizations of concepts it was explaining that would help understand them... but it wasn't very effective... the pictures were not intuitive... it's a hard problem

Keep going though. I've done 8 now! I'm thinking about doing one for Uni student loans called 'Is it worth it?'... Going through that with my eldest right now!

OMG, I just made a student loan GPT and it calculated the repayments (including overpayments to get it paid off by age 65) at our current exhorbitant RPI (retail prices index aka student loan interest rate). This is just for borrowing three year's tuition fees... no maintenance costs factored in (rent, food, etc). Holy f*ck!
Including the initial borrowing amount of £37,500, the total amount you will repay over the years, factoring in both the regular repayments and the additional overpayments necessary to pay off the loan before age 65, is approximately £527,123. This total combines both the principal amount borrowed and the interest accrued over time, as well as the extra payments required to counter the high interest rate and ensure the loan is fully paid off.

To pay off your student loan by age 29, you would need to make increasing annual payments over the next 11 years. The total amount repaid in this scenario would be approximately £64,844. The annual payments would start at about £3,713 in the first year and incrementally increase each year, reaching around £8,709 in the final year. This approach ensures the loan is fully repaid within your 20s, accounting for the interest rate of 8.9%.
This strategy requires significant financial commitment, especially in the later years. If you have more questions or need assistance with other scenarios, feel free to ask!
I need a stiff drink!

This is where the power of compounding works against you, huh!

I just read they're charging RPI plus 3% whilst you're still learning and it goes down to *just* the RPI once you graduate!
