Not yet... court ordered movements is the precedent for confiscation for wrongthink

Yes people should read this: https://craigwright.net/blog/bitcoin-blockchain-tech/digital-gold/
As digital gold it is easy to confiscate, cash is harder when the blocks are big and you split into many outputs

I do think BTC is far more decentralized. You literaly cant change it.
It sucks as p2p cash and all that but the corecucks do have a point.
On BTC you just broadcast and it gets mined. On BSV, in order to scale it requires centralized effort
192wMMS5V3sSZvsN8iRk93aLM3CdXSeEeq (2459) ·
What sorts of things changed between BTC and BSV?
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
Many. What do you mean?
192wMMS5V3sSZvsN8iRk93aLM3CdXSeEeq (2459) ·
The centralized / decentralized bit. I’m curious how we BSV got centralized ...and how does it really impact the blockchain
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
no you got it wrong. not "changing" btc was a way to gain and keep control. seems like centralized effort to me. BTC only scales with a centralized solution. Big blocks are decentralized and competitive. Its not centralized, its specialized.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
I dont agree.
If BTC was to scale it would necessarily introduce centralization to coorrinate that effort, as we are seeing in BSV.
Even a change to 2mb would have been a centralizing action.
I dont agree with this path but i get it now
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
Big block bitcoin right now is mostly mined by Hathor that mine empty blocks and TAAL that is trying to scale.
To push big blocks neccesarily means you must collude with miners like we see every stresstest.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
The pardox here is BTC is much much more decentralized in every metric, but because its constrained blocksize it becomes centralized and broken due to all the offchain … that must happen to use it.
Lets see what kind of decentralization wins
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
hard forking the software might be a centralized effort but you are ignoring that not forking it by core was as much centralized or even more. by doing so core captured the protocol and made themselves relevant forever.
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
what shadders is doing is centralized today and seems more like an operation of a professional software company. but with every fork he is becoming less relevant and bsv more decentralized. just like with satoshi in the early days.
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
hathor has already changed their minds and are mining transactions. did not take them too long. the problem is lack of information, specialization and that bsv is simply in the early stages. more fees more capitalist the miners will become.
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
there is nothing stopping you and me from becoming the best miners or the best entrepreneurs in bsv. that is decentralization to me. in btc you cant become nothing because blockstream already became their everything. i dont see any decentralization there.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
It's not really about Core. the xt, classic, and s2x forks failed to gain traction. Core just stayed the incumbent.
Miners always choose 🤷♂️
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
Why do you say that? BTC has diverse ecosystem of bigass miners and nobody is stopping you from joining. There is ton of BTC services too. Nobody is stopping you either.
As it stands, BSV fails the howey test. BTC doesnt. IMO.
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
Miners chose Core because Core told them its in their best interest to not rock the boat. they dont care about scaling bitcoin rn as btc is a cash cow. once the cashcow dies they have to get up and find a way to increase their profits by doing more work.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
What I mean is for those 5 transactions a second BTC does, it is far more decentralized than BSV or any crypto. For all other transactions it's centralized.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
I also think the miners chose the … path forward and extremely shortsighted but here we are.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
Bitcoin systems need to be 'distributed' in order to solve the problem they set out to solve. That happens with three or more parties.
BSV development is guided through the Bitcoin Association and licensing, which is legally and practically centralized
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
what services i can remember more services leaving btc than joining. the once joining now are centralized ofchain ones like paypal and cashapp. they dont even need btc.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
BSV is sufficiently decentralized. BTC is further decentralized.
It affords a measure of robustness to the failure of any single node.
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
i mean the dream might never come true but when i think of mining i also imagine scaling and competing. not just 1mb blocks to get the blockreward + setting the fees high on busy days.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
services like OTC, custodians, exchanges, all the offchain payment rails, lightning etc
Nobody stopping any development on these
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
The biggest difference in narrative surrounds whether it is necessary to have so many nodes in so many places as to be able to thwart legal action by state level actors. This is called 'censorship resistance'.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
BSV welcomes legally formed state mandates. The intention is to comply, thus, 'censorship resistance' isn't a primary goal.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
im very interested in seeing how that plays out for BTC as it is its pretty much only selling point
1PkvqnUqWeeEw13NwhLeEZ8gqcZ5QZCG2V (3599) ·
Decentralization is a delusion. Incentives and lawr are where its at.

1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
I think its so balls as to impress the BTC hodling regulators at this point.
Sure its nonsense. But its really balls for a stonk to be that way innit?
1EzXMDpxp3cYvHGUBZ9sF7BHStRVxayKaw (6218) ·
if you see the bsv hardforks and devs as a potential attack vector(creg making some bs demands) then i can understand what ur concern is otherwise i dont really agree. maybe 2 years ago it seemed like that but not today. anyways have to agree to disagree.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
I think back to the nature of UASF, the willing 'user'
(for 'user', read context of a highly coordinated narrative driven cypherpunk projecting they represent the userbase)
willing to 'just keep running their node', essentially to let the network burn
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
well now, people have life savings in the BTC and its the same cypherpunks who will happily rip the value up if their control of the protocol is threatened.
the audience will be the state instead of the primarily chinese concentrated miners
15uqHxs6GTcvSrpGDabBM8AwnN95jMAT2J (4597) ·
Distributed is what is necessary. The term, decentralised, is a bit of a logical fallacy.
I just don't want courts or miners to be able to cancel a person's UTXOs. They can order an arbitrer to print a new Ferrari Enzo token. Just don't touch da sats.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
remember when one of the music ip organizations or whatever took down 'youtube-dl' ?
they did not even take it down really. they hit up a few sites.
who knows how ineffective this will end up being, if anything happens at all.
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
unfortunately 'sats' specifically will be hard to use like that, because you have to have them on that stupid BTC platform who is about to embark on years of legal defense
and on BSV, idk how it will work when courts trace funds and somehow I have taint
15uqHxs6GTcvSrpGDabBM8AwnN95jMAT2J (4597) ·
Everybody early should trade in their sats for the mining of coinbase BSV.
Because y'all gettin' cancelled.
Me, they'll probably find my coinbase and feed'em to the fish.
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
I think in the future there might be different types of BSV or BTC... clean and tainted. Coinbase rewards coins already fetch more money
Maybe even "lawr" coins and unfucked with coins.
192wMMS5V3sSZvsN8iRk93aLM3CdXSeEeq (2459) ·
What are coinbase rewards coins
1E5wYaMr6BYL3qHSZQ3sPqaQHvaCVoYcfh (678) ·
freah coinbase rewards that havnt been used at all straight from the miner. So they cant be tainted.
15uqHxs6GTcvSrpGDabBM8AwnN95jMAT2J (4597) ·
Yeah, but you said bad things about special persons or Royalty, while you were mining them, so wave goodbye.
192wMMS5V3sSZvsN8iRk93aLM3CdXSeEeq (2459) ·
I would think coinbase would love blockchains like BSV since more of their users could transact at any given point in time
1KKwemSCUDZSyQ1Bs7bqfCocE5fogkpKw1 (725) ·
ah, he means that for each block mined on the blockchain, there is a subsidy paid out to the miners. The amount of coins given as a reward for finding the block gets reduced by 50% every four years.
these are bonefied 'clean' coins
15uqHxs6GTcvSrpGDabBM8AwnN95jMAT2J (4597) ·
