In BSV we have started moving in a direction where we replace facebook and big tech data silos with wallet app silos
In both cases it's made possible by what I call the network effect prison.
We need to correct course fast before it's too hard.

Today a dev needs to add every wallet one by one to his new app
This is losing strategy because it reinforces information walls
Ex: A dev in the west will not add the most used wallet in china because he doesn't know many people who use it in his circles

This will then reinforce the pre-existing separation by making sure users in china and in the west don't use the same apps
Bitcoin should be a bridge, and not reinforce information walls.

We are recreating silos where each wallet will have its own appstore curated by the wallet
So apps that bring more revenue to the wallet will sort higher, not the ones that most benefit the users, because users are stuck in a network effect prison

We have seen paymail identities being banned by wallet already
We are seeing each wallet trying to convince apps to support them to get added to their store
How is this different from big tech ?

What is needed is a non custodial and open protocol that will work with any wallet to act as a bridge for paying for complex transactions, for allowing users to own their identity, and for paying with bitcoin on all the apps of the ecosystem

This could be read as an attack on current wallets but it couldn't be further from that and I hope you and others read it in a positive way, especially as wallets are best positioned to lead on this vision

Just trying to understand the problem as you see it. Is it that if you don't get your app added to a wallet it is therefore inaccessible? Wallets on their GUI can only display a few apps upon loading, so then the competition for these is perverse?

Your app would still be accessible but the reach would be lower
It's not so much about the apps being displayed, but about apps being usable with any wallet & wallets focusing on serving (& earning from) their users, to keep good incentives

making another wallet would not fix this, there are certainly things I would want to see done differently in a wallet, but the main issue in BSV right now is the need for "meta-wallets" to handle onchain ID & signing complex transactions from all wallets

So as it stands now, for a wallet to send to an application, there needs to be an integration. Ideally there is no need for that, am I understanding you right?
