what are the BSV community thoughts on KYC? are there ways to avoid it or it's not recommended? I'm still learning about all the history, but It seems a lot of the decentralization will be gone since TAAL has patented a lot of BSV only assets, right or no?

Decentralization is a computer science term regarding robustness of a network. Kyc has nothing to do with decentralization. Kyc is for identification. Eventually kyc will be mandatory on most platforms.
thanks for the comment. I know kyc does not implicate in centralization or the other way around. I was talking about bsv only features, who are owned by TAAL - wouldn't it make TAAL somehow have a centralized influence over BSV? is that coherent with SV?🤔
Every company that will ever exist will have self contained services and rules that make them centralized so of course TAAL will have centralization or else they wouldn’t exist as a company and would disappear into thin air. All companies are centralized.
I agree. So you consider BSV as part of a private company?
If yes, would it not conflict with the original satoshi view?
If no, would you still consider BSV to be a decentralized project? (personally, I think every project needs strong leadership)
Hold up!!! Bitcoin (BSV) is an electronic peer to peer cash system... not part of a company. There are companies that make use of bitcoin as an asset but bitcoin is not part of any company. There are companies that have influence but that is different.
Just because big players are stepping up and getting involved does not make bitcoin (BSV) centralized. It’s a computer science term about the robustness of a system. Totallyyyy different! If it did then BTC has wayyyyy more big players.
BSV is not part of a private company! A private company uses BSV. Massive massive massive massive massive difference!
Yes, but that's what Kurt @292 exposed in one of his interviews, what happened to BTC and most crypto projects, 3rd parties companys - owned by the same big bank people - built a whole system around them so it's not as decentralized as you would think >>>
if I understood correctly, BSV is free of the big bank guys influence, that would be a major advantage of the project - right?
As I said, I believe every project needs strong leadership, if TAAL and Craig can deliver that, I don't see it as a bad thing.
Decentralization is a computer science term regarding the robustness of a system. BSV is an electronic peer to peer cash system that follows the bitcoin protocol. When the protocol gets changed then the asset is not bitcoin. BSV follows the protocol.
Bitcoin (BSV) as a protocol doesn’t need leadership but to protect the remnant of bitcoin that is left (BSV) there needs to be TEMPORARY leadership until the system outgrows it then there should be NO leadership.
for instance, correct me if i'm wrong, BTC depends on the Segwit / Lightning protocol for faster transactions. Who owns Segwit? Is it a decentralized project as the BTC protocol or is it tied to a private company? 🤔
The lightning network takes place off chain. It changes the bitcoin protocol and the transactions are controlled by a third party. The BTC protocol isn’t decentralized anymore because it doesn’t follow the original protocol that was decentralized.
