The Book of the Watchers is the first section of the Book of Enoch and it describes how fallen angels (referred to as "Watchers") descended to Earth and began to cohabit with human women. These unions resulted in the birth of a race of giants known as the Nephilim. The Watchers also taught humans various forms of forbidden knowledge, such as weapon-making and the use of metals. As a result of these transgressions, God decided to punish the angels and their offspring with a flood, which was to be sent to Earth. Enoch serves as a narrator and a messenger, warning the people of the coming judgement and urging them to repent.
