blows my mind that the Bell System employed 1m+ individuals when it was broken up and is *now* owned by Crown Castle which employs 4,500

They pulled some seriously sketchy stuff w/ the transfer of assets to Crown Castle, but also automation.
Or neglect because they cut jobs they should have kept?
They use subpar Inferno powered all digital switches in some stations. Others are still too expensive to change out.
Oh no they divested the value of the company through a backdoor to bypass regulators and then named it such to say "who gonna stop me".
