Bitquestion: If all twetch data is public, would it be possible for anyone to build a competing interface to display the same data?

For now, sure, but they'll have to keep up with changes to the Twetch protocol, and eventually, I bet Twetch will encrypt Twetches by user choice (private, pay wall, etc.)

Yes. But better to build something that is complementary to twetch and extends it.

Memo.cash can do this and I think does it now but UI isn’t as great so less traffic there
