Can accounts be deleted on Twetch, my friend says he won’t join if he can’t delete account and all data can you remove yourself and your data from twetch? If not you don’t really own your data.. I’m just asking ,I really like Twetch , but it is a good point

Twetch ·

If the data could be deleted... that would mean we were all mislead. Lol. So I’m going to go with no.

Twetch ·

“Immutability can be defined as the ability of a blockchain ledger to remain unchanged, for a blockchain to remain unaltered and indelible.” So no, you can’t

Twetch ·

What if porn takes over twetch is that ok with you ?? I don’t really care but a lot of people will

Twetch ·

Being devils advocate , how does Twetch allow you to “take back your data “if you can’t delete or remove Twetch’s ? I really like twetch but their ad that got me here was misleading . It’s more accurate to say “get paid for your data”

Twetch ·

Who are *you*?
What use case is there for publishing immutable data?
Do you know anything *you* could use in about 150 years?

Twetch ·

What if someone posts a rape video link or torture pics.. this could be an issue no?

Twetch ·

It removes the traditional avenues in which our data is gathered and sold. It gives us as much control as is currently possible. We will never be able to “delete” our data. So we are taking what control is available to us. Not total control though.

Twetch ·

I have asked a twetch earlier and they said they “can and will ”delete posts that contain illegal material if needed... there is still a central authority figure in Twetch it seems

Twetch ·

History is written by the victors... because they could kill everyone on the other side and burn their writings. So who am I? I’m someone who can document whatever I want on the blockchain regardless of if someone thinks I’m worthy or not. 👑

Twetch ·

So twetch will delete from twetch UI .But people will still be able to access deleted twetch UI links direct from the blockchain ? It would be easy to make a site that reads from the blockchain no ? And call it “uncensored twetch view” no?

Twetch ·

There will always be a record somewhere. That record can be sealed from the public though.

Twetch ·

yes it could get wierd

Twetch ·

The year is 3030, all the people in the matrix are on twetch.
All the people who took the red pill are on twetch uncensored.

Twetch ·

That made me think of another issue ... are death threats protected speech or illegal ? Who will be the first person convicted of a crime using twetch posts as evidence?

Twetch ·

The data will still be permanent. It can be taken away from the UI, but the hash is on chain and you can reference it forever.

Twetch ·

I think censorship should be very difficult, so that people really think about whether it’s worth the effort to go through legal channels to a get twetch off the UI . Because otherwise it would turn into Twitter..

Twetch ·

Beheadings were all over the internet after 9/11. All those videos just vanished from most public platforms on the internet recently.

Should they still be accessable to this day?
What if footage of the twin towers collapsing becomes considered illegal?

Twetch ·

It's a permissionless public chain in which ALL of the immutable data you post can be analyzed and targeted in a much easier fashion. Just need to search the blockchain, no contracts required to get data from say Apple, just plug right in and collect.

Twetch ·

Are all Twetch’s posts encrypted on the blockchain? If so Is the encryption key available to all or just twetch?

Twetch ·

Not encrypted, all clear text.

Twetch ·

Click here and then click decode to see the twetch on chain: https://whatsonchain.com/tx/1f3ba786841a21cfb33009fff8edb7e13aa0bb24b04628ec181a575e4a529dbc

What would happen if someone posted national security secrets that threaten the lives of people( and will continue to be a threat) what would us government do In this situation.. I’m just interested in how law would work with this.

Twetch ·

It can be removed from being broadcast via API. Or a miner can be paid to encrypt old data. It's just not cheap.

Twetch ·

Thanks, I really appreciate the answers.
