Please help me understand. Is a post here like etched in a Satoshi? Or is it in a transaction? Or is it both, or neither? Sometimes I feel I have grasp, sometimes not. Like now, when I just thought about it.

Posts, but not images and stuff are just files uploaded on chain using the B protocol, built ontop of bitcom. It's just an OP_RETURN

Ok, and the OP_RETURN is connected to?

its in the transaction which you can see by clicking the little block icon in the top right of a message (once the message makes it onchain).
You can then view the contents by clicking the Treechat BMAP viewer on the whatsonchain site

images up to 1MB or so will be posted on chain soon

Would it be fair to say a Satoshi is a chapter of a enourmous ledger? And a huge amount of data connected to that satoshi is a very complicated transaction?

you are not forced to write to a single satoshi although you can choose to (which is what ordinals protocol does) the data is written to a utxo which can have any amount

but the rest is accurate... it is an enormous ledger on which you can write arbitrary data
