lots of new faces. so i want to explain [[upvalue]] a bit more. upvaluing is not just for rewarding the creator. upvalue is a way for us to collectively curate content and direct our attention.
when we upvalue we are in a way purchasing attention for whatever it is that we upvalue bc it reposts it in the global public feed and in the feed of all of your followers. upvalue is a costly signal that says... this deserves attention.
just by using a "social media" app we can create an emergent attention market using a costly and therefore more honest signal. this is just the beginning but ultimately this should allow the Treechat community and sub-communities to coordinate better not just in the digital, but also the physical world.

this also means that upvaluing your own content, boosting, is a useful way for indicating to others which of your own content we should pay attention to, and potentially upvalue in turn. it also supports the platform as 100% of the boost goes to Treechat
