Some of you are aware that I started programming when I was 7 and was place in a computer science program for gifted students when I was about 10, I think - made a light pen for the grade 6 science fair and went to provincials but it was garbage so... lol

So besides the crappy light pen that didn't work most of the time, I also played chess and was in chess clubs and the CoCo Computer Club and all that growing up. A Young Astronaut and Air Cadet.

I built machines and new an inventor who built all kinds of farming machinery.

He really inspired me and taught me all kinds of things, but being still a young man I could only grok so much, and still make time for sports.

I studied magnetism starting really young when my mom bought a book about magnets, the kind that is banned in book stores today. :-)

My mother says that it was the first book I read on my own. I don't remember, but I'll take her word for it.

Apparently that triggered me to read all the time and eventually I remember hitting a milestone of one Hardy Boys book a night. It became easy and I read so many books growing up ... and twice as many half-read. 90% of my time reading is online now. :-/
