Rejecting a claim is not the same as asserting the opposite. This is why people are tried for Guilty vs Not-Guilty, and not for Guilty vs Innocent.
If someone rejects your claim, they are in no way taking on the burden to prove the opposite.

Claims stand on their own. Both having and not having keys are different claims with their own burden of proof. If you say the number of gumballs in the machine is odd, and I say I don't believe you, it doesn't mean I believe the number is even.
