What I appreciate about eastern spirituality is their understanding of the mind as a problem, not a solution. Besides that I have come to be quite suspicious of eastern ideas of "enlightenment", "gurus", "masters" etc. Meditation was my starting point and without it I'd probably still be an atheist, but since my focus during meditation has turned to God, I think prayer is a better term for it. I think what I'm trying to do is use the Eastern understanding of the mind to make Western traditions more complete. What I see
