anyway, I hereby note that one of the challenges with async is that I didn't even know someone was trying to talk to me here, and it was hard to find out the context. @metamitya sent me a twitter DM saying "just a reminder in case you were interested in this crazy experiment" with a link to this subthread, but I didn't actually know what the context was, and when I asked, it took me ANOTHER 10 days to get to looking at his reply.

the thing about async communication is that there is a social consensus that people respond on their own time
which also means people can incentivize 💰 speed of reply aka urgency of attention when time is of the essence
yep. you can prioritize your social media consumption and creation to where it bring people most value
