Depending on the value of the people, it could be a good thing. Especially with the efficiency that bitcoin brings to the table.

You are being too wishful. Bitcoin doesn't matter during this stage. Clean water, and safety become the only thing that matter.

Bitcoin should be used as a process management and governance tool. This can help a lot of things in a Balkanized world. I agree that it’s secondary to the initial malaise of immediate human needs.

I agree. But, the hurdle is always in getting people to see that cooperating together is more beneficial than acting in an exclusively self serving way. A Nash equilibrium. Benefit both yourself and everyone else.
