Well, first of all, instead of cashing out he could swap the 80k btc to BSV. That would be quite the signal, wouldn't it, and he wouldn't have to prove anything.
Secondly, he could cash out, be accused of stealing those couns, and then ask the single and obvious question: "Who reported them stolen? Who has made an ownership claim on these coins?"
