advertising is unnecessary in a world where content is judged and propagated based on its value – not how much money is behind it

Speaking on behalf of the majority of internet marketers... we dont care as long we have great targeting capabilities.

You cant imagine how efficient & accurate facebook's algorithms are in auto-targeting consumers based on their pixel data.

It's an interesting thought experiment to consider what it would be like if there were no advertising. I think it would be possible.

I also think ads that pay the viewer make a lot of sense.

Yes we have discussed this a lot, and it appears TonicPOW is working on a similar idea. You could make a tinder-like game that lets users swipe on ads and earn micro amounts of money for each ad they view.

We are building the foundation of the new internet. Lots of beta apps this year. In another year they will be a lot more mature.

Make it so that users own their data, but dont mess the ad model.

This way both parties, marketers and the people, will love you.

Hyper-targeted ads are possible without Facebook if users opt-in to sharing their information directly with advertisers, third-party advertiser markets, or publicly.

@568 I believe the way to do this is something like TonicPow.

A new message arrives in your inbox.

"Do you want to earn $10 to watch a five minute video?"

You watch the video. It's great. You spend $100 on the product.

Everyone wins.

Instead of COMMUNIST GOOGLE shoving 100 gazillion ads down your throat BitCoin will bring back word-of-mouth advertising... the ORIGINAL peer-to-peer advertising protocol

Hey, been trying to contact you.

I'm having problems with moneybutton and yours.org.

I have a character limit here, but I see a message in Moneybutton telegram and emailed both. Can you help?

Twetch ·

@385 sure but they need to send a video I care about.

E.g. if I am a 30 year old man dont send me a video about pink dresses.

And thinking about it... if I can have access to unencrypted data onchain, targeting becomes very easy.

Interesting..

3) straight but has a daughter -> may want to buy that dress as a gift.

This is why FB is the best ad platform

Twetch ·

Example for targeting importance:

Imagine a 30 yr old man that is:
1) single, straight, no kids -> dont show him pink dress ad..
2) likes to dress as a woman (trans) -> probably will want that dress (lol)
