The ability of the ego to blame others for any outcome we don't like is truly impressive. We've seen it recently with "they didn't vote for us because they are racist woman-haters". But the number one spot is still held by "Straight men won't date me because they are transphobic". The most fascinating part is that the mind creates an illusion so powerful and convincing that it doesn't seem to occur to those caught in it that there is an extremely obvious reason that offers a much better explanation. The ego has the ability to completely blind us to the most obvious. And that's the reason why effective propaganda always directly addresses the ego.
