Things that have become grotesquely normalized: Inducement of labor with Pitocin, unnecessary episiotomies, “once a section always a section” nonsense, “high risk” determinations requiring hooking us up to bullshit machines while we painfully labor, invasive and unnecessary vaginal checks during labor, the commonplace drugging of women with epidural making it harder to push baby out & leads to more sections, the ultrasounds as common practice when there is evidence that it upsets the baby, I’m sure I’m missing some things but these are just off the top of my head.
