i mean the first thing you'd demand of a new wallet is that it be compatible with old wallets. otherwise, nonstarter.
are the people pushing this standard above this principle?

Not sure I understand your question? The BRC 100 wallet ( I’ve torn apart one I’ve built from the inside - to investigate) is limiting people to BRC100 native only. So the UTXO management and systems require brc100 wallet payments. I don’t like that, so I made mine allow any BSV payments. I built a function that sweeps them into the proper brc100 framework under the hood. It’s a bit of a hack but it works. Does that answer your q?
