BSV is not a fork. BTC forked when it changed the protocol. All forks are changes to the protocol.

The "is BSV a fork or not a fork?" question creates confusion for people who've never taken a deeper dive into understanding. I usually craft any response to queries on this based on who I'm talking to. I am in agreement that all "forks" of original bitcoin have a story of diversion from the original bitcoin - so i get it. But I also like to "know and respect my audience" when it comes to explaining things. For me, my goal is adoption of BSV - to the masses.
