[47] Grain-Free Diet(辟穀法)
1/
One of the regimes of regimen in Korean ancient books is the healthy way of eating, a grain-free diet (辟穀法).
This grain-free diet means that if you solve it in Chinese, 辟(byuk) means far away, and 穀(gok) means grains, which means you don't eat grain.
This grain-free diet is not a diet practiced by ordinary people or peasants, but mainly from the wealthy who live with less exercise and do not lack to eat like classical scholars or noble men. It is a health regimen practiced for health improvement.
How, then, should the scientific basis of this grain-free diet be interpreted?
Let's try it out.
2/
In the past, if we look at the diet of the rich in Korea, rice with mixed grains, beans or red beans in white rice would have been the staple food, and it would have been made up of various forms of side dish such as soup, stew, kimchi, pickle, vegetables, seasoned vegetables, pancakes and fried foods.
However, it is important to note that the percentage of food intake in each food group is the largest intake of staple food, and the side dish may have taken a relatively small amount as a means to eat staple food. The source seems to depend on rice. In other words, grain was a food group with a large proportion.
But the question is how to eat the grain.
3/
Nutritional composition depends on whether you consume it in its entirety or if you remove it from the endodermis to polish it.
Perhaps my guess was that the wish of ordinary people in our country was to eat a lot of meat soup with white rice, so the rich had such a diet.
In that sense, it is possible to compress the polished grain into a small amount of salt-rich side dish, which is the central element of the meal, which is the sugar, or calor.
Therefore, the nutritional composition of these meals is unbalanced due to excess calories and lack of protein and regulators(vitamin, mineral).
4/
In addition, the mutual balance of nutrients is important as the health promotion effect of the contents of the meal, but also the acid and alkali balance of the whole meal is important.
Cereals and meat are acidic foods, so you should keep enough intake of alkaline foods such as vegetables and algae to maintain good health.
And if you take a closer look at the practice of the Grain-free diet, eating a meal that is high in grain for a long time will increase your weight due to excess calories, and your body will become acidic, which will interfere with your physiology.
5/
Therefore, if the health deteriorates for this reason, do not abstain or eat grain foods, but the method of eating vegetable foods rich in fiber, minerals and vitamins such as vegetables, seaweed and wild vegetables is a grain-free diet.
It is surprising that the ancient Taoist family already knew and practiced a balanced diet that is not exactly known in modern nutrition.
Modern people prefer a conventional diet to follow their palate, take medicine when they are sick, or go to the hospital to leave their health to doctors.
6/
But the truth is that all health laws are already contained in our daily habits, and if our lifestyles are not correct, we will get sick, and if we change our lives and live a proper life, it is natural for us to recover from the disease.
We are in good health with daily meals.
However, if our diet is not balanced with the overall nutrition, it will affect your health. In such a case, if you immediately replenish the lack of ingredients and control the intake of excess ingredients to restore the nutritional balance as soon as possible, the health is back to normal again.
7/
However, modern people believe that the practice of grain-free diet is necessary because most people are suffering from health due to excessive calorie intake and lack of regulators(vitamin, mineral).
Therefore, if you increase the intake of vegetables and algae in proportion and refrain from eating high-calorie foods, the health improvement will be achieved. In particular, you should not miss the intake of alkalescent algae every day.
