hey everyone... seeking some feedback. im leaning towards making the first upvote/reaction free by default, with every subsequent reaction then being an upvalue.
so for example to send a 10K upvalue you would need to tap twice not once. the first tab is the old web2 cheap upvote. the first free upvote will not repost the content. to repost requires an upvalue.
WHY?
1. flatten the learning curve and lower friction. non-bsv users arriving can still interact with upvotes and reactions as they might in a web2 app without being forced to buy anything, the upvalue is opt in and grants you special powers : lets you repost
2. add the missing reaction intensity level. there's actually no way to just acknowledge something without reposting it or rewarding it, and sometimes you actually want that... like yes i saw it, but its not quiet something explicitly value
your thoughts?

my initial reaction without thinking too much is that its overcomplicating the UI. But, it might be an "if I see it I'd get it" deal. Do you have a working branch where you can show how it would look and feel to a user?
I really like the idea of flattening the learning curve for non-BSV users. 💯 Coming up with some way to do this without complicating experience would be golden.
You will need to add free into the upvalue button for that so people don't get confused or just upvalue without $ inside it.
I think it's a good idea!
Anything to get more users so yes, less friction is a good idea.
Make it cost to post, free to engage — that's how you'd cut the spam and keep the coin meaningful.
Can you add automatic translation like X? This feature is essential for me, and I believe many users here are from Asia.
Easier onboard but its added friction. If you do this please let me toggle it off.
Yes I think upvaluing is important for BSV holders and non-BSV holders alike. It allows the promotion of posts that are related to the interest and social popularity of BSV rather than how much tip someone receives. That function of tipping should be supplementary to a forum thread such as treechat, not the base of it.
Also I would love for my phone's triangle 'back button' to go to the previous page, instead of shutting down Treechat.
It's faster to use the triangle for my thumbs because of close proximity to the virtual keyboard, than have to stretch the to top left corner of my screen to... go back.
